Home on Longboat Key Makes Bradenton-Sarasota History

The “Ohana” compound on Longboat Key was listed for $22 million, making it the most expensive residential property ever listed in the history of the Bradenton-Sarasota housing market.
The Hawaiian word “Ohana” means “a place of family, laughter and sharing” which represents the dream that the architect, Guy Peterson, and builder, Michael Walker, have for the home. This compound, inspired by costal South Africa and southern Indonesia, is built on 2.57 acres and is located on the northern end of Longboat Key. It has 6 bedrooms 7 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms, a beautiful pool and pool area, tennis court and seawall. The residence also encompasses three pavilions, which resemble that of a Balinese luxury resort, providing both family and friends with the ability to enjoy all that this magnificent home has to offer. Last, but not least, let’s not forget to mention the beautiful job that the landscape architect, Raymond Jungles, did by beautifully incorporating over 60 different kinds of tropical foliage into the yard.
Until now, a three-house compound on Casey Key held the record for the most expensive residential property in the Bradenton-Sarasota area. It was listed in 2011 for $19 million and then $14.95 until it was taken off the market in September of 2013.
